Another Darling Girl Cosmetics Haul!

Saturday, May 18, 2013

Between the fact that I NEEDED a full sized version of the Yes, Virginia Soft Focus Blush (check out my review here), the huge shade range the brand has and the incredible customer service, I hauled some more from the brand!

I purchased two items along with the review kit, so I have tons of samples, the products I purchased and a GWP to play with. Sweet!

As per usual, the products are sent in pure cuteness!

From left to right, there are two samples included with my purchase; Belle Eyeshadow and Mercurial Eyeshadow, as well as the GWP for spending at least $10 before shipping, which was a petit size of South Of Heaven. Also included are a couple business cards and a Darling Girl logo sticker, which is too cute!

These products are part of the press sample kit that I took part in. The top two shades are; Faux Pas Eyeshadow and Angel Face Shimmer Blush and the bottom two are; Sassy Sakura DuoChrome Blush and Viva La Revolution Eyeshadow. Off to the right is the Kiss You Off: Color Rich Lip Balm in Honey Love.

Finally the core of my actual purchase. On the left, which you can probably guess, is a full size of the Yes, Virginia Soft Focus blush which is literally at holy grail status for me. I just ADORE it! To the right is the Glitter Glue which is a mixing medium that I needed something fierce!

It bears mentioning that this order was sent out like lightning compared to the expected turn around time! For indie brands, its important to remember that these people are running a small business and working their tails off! I was expecting, as per what the site had noted, up to 16 days of waiting. Turns out, I only had to wait a tiny bit over half of that. Once it was shipped out it only took 2 days to get to my house! I'm impressed! I had the same experience last time, so it definitely shows how consistent the brand is!

I'm super excited to start playing with these, as Darling Girl has quickly become one of my favorite brands; indie or not! I've got a lot of testing and reviewing on my plate as of late, so I'll get some reviews posted for you guys ASAP! (And I still have some to review from my last haul!)

ULTA Haul with GWP!

Sunday, April 14, 2013

On my way home from work this afternoon I stopped into ULTA and found out they were running a GWP Sale. With any purchase of $19.50 or more from ULTA's range, you can receive one of four 10 piece gift bags in the choice of two styles and four different bags as well as your choice of an ULTA single eyeshadow and ULTA eyeliner. I thought it was a pretty great deal, so I decided to check out what ULTA's rage had to offer. I decided on the ULTA Professional 6 Piece Brush set which retails for $25.

The brush set comes with a silver, quilted, zippered clutch that was intended to store the brushes. However, there are no individual brush holders in the clutch, but I will definitely find myself using this; just maybe not for the intended purpose.

All of the brushes are synthetic and they have white handles with icy blue bristles. Included are a blush brush, foundation brush, eyeshadow brush, crease brush and smudger brush. All of the brushes are average length and at first touch feel soft. I will be including a separate review of the brushes as a whole rather than separately, as they are only sold in this set.

Onto the GWP! There were four bags to choose from and I decided on the "pink bloom print". Shocker, huh? For my free shadow and liner I chose the Glittering Sand single eyeshadow and the Kohl Liner in Smoky Gray, which was not available online.

There were two different options as to what kind of bag was available; both a cool (pinks) and warm (corals) option. Pinker shades tend to flatter me more, so I went with it! The bag includes a Lipstick in the shade Precious Pink, a Super Shiny Lipgloss in the shade Starlet, a Cheek Color blush in Infatuation, a Nail Lacquer in Fuchsiamania, the Amped Lashes Mascara, the Ultimate Clean Foaming Face Wash and a trio of brushes (A contour blush brush, sponge tip brush and a shadow brush). All products are available for purchase separately (minus the brushes I believe) so I will be reviewing them as such.

While I was in the store, I made sure I picked up a couple other things that I've been wanting, which were separate from the GWP; Zoya Pixiedust Nail Lacquer in Vespa, Smashbox Double Ended Lip Enhancing Gloss in Luxe/Catwalk and NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Lavender.

At the register, I was told that I save over $120 dollars through this promotion! Great deal - Check it out!

Clinique Haul feat. Clinique Bonus GWP

Sunday, March 10, 2013

I stopped into Dillards to pick up one thing; Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey. I left with much more than that. I'm normally not a sucker for GWP promotions but this one was actually a pretty great deal.

I started with the Almost Lipstick in Black Honey, which I've wanted for a while. This shade is touted to flatter nearly all skin tones. Its a classic shade; my grandmother and I were actually bonding about our mutual love for it the other day. To hit (and exceed) the $25 range for the free GWP I picked up a blush in Iced Lotus which is a pale, cool toned mauve.

The GWP (a $65 value)  is exclusive to Dillards and though it does not give a specific expiration date, it does note "supplies are limited". I work for another company that often does GWP promotions and they tend to go quite fast across the board.

There are two different choices of GWPs, one being  the "Pinks" and the other being the "Violets". Not very surprisingly, I chose the "Violets".

The bag is actually a decent size; its a bit bigger than my other makeup bags. I always have a need for them and I think the pattern is cute. Its all spring-y; I may rotate this one into my purse for this season.

The bag includes travel sized options for the Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief, the Liquid Facial Soap - Mild, the Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturizer, the Lash Doubling Mascara in Black, a small palette with a Color Surge Eye Shadow Duo in Beach Plum and Blush in Mocha Pink and a Different Lipstick in Raspberry Glace.

All of these products are available in full size and separately. I've previously used the Liquid Facial Soap and remember loving it, so I'll probably blow through that. I will post reviews as quickly as I can!
